Bereavement Training Content for Financial Services

Course Content (as per CPD Service)

Evidence-based bereavement training by the National Bereavement Service (NBS) aims to equip delegates from the financial sector with the skills and understanding to support bereaved clients with compassion and confidence. The session covers the emotional, physiological and practical bereavement experiences, and emphasises the importance of understanding bereavement as a vulnerability.

Delegates explore communication techniques, focusing on empathetic active listening and appropriate language, while avoiding clichés and assumptions. The training also highlights the crucial role of cultural and faith traditions in mourning and underscores the significance of self-care and resilience for those supporting bereaved clients.

Aim of the Course (as per CPD Service):

This session is a 2-hour interactive webinar, presented by the National Bereavement Service which will raise delegate awareness and understanding of the impact of bereavement, grief and loss, specifically for those working within the financial sector. The session will provide content that will enhance best practice when working with bereaved people. Those attending the training will be supported to reflect on the nature of sensitive conversations that they may have with bereaved clients.

This session is suitable for those working within the financial sector who are professionally supporting and working customers who are living with bereavement.
